Warehouse Sale Madness

April 27 2012, written by

Last Saturday we held our mid-season warehouse sale in conjunction with Singapore blogger Xiaxue. We spent the previous day prepping in the warehouse, clearing out our tables and putting them aside to make way for the throngs of people who would swoop down on us the next day. We didn’t really know what to expect and how many people would turn up. I have personally never been to a warehouse sale, so I couldn’t anticipate the crowd.

When we came in to work the next morning at 9am (the sale was slated to start at noon), there was already a queue snaking all the way to the other side of our floor. We prepped for a bit, and Xiaxue bought some of us Maccas brekkie (thanks wendy!), and then braced ourselves for the swarm of people when we opened the doors. Slightly after 12pm, the doors were finally opened and Xiaxue’s Star Buys (her cameras!!) were snapped up in an instant. The first girl in the queue got them, and we were so happy for her! The night before, at about 10pm, while all of us were still in the office sorting the items for our sale, our doorbell rang. We stopped whatever we were doing and traded puzzled looks, all of us thinking “who could that be??”. Turns out it was the first shopper here ready to queue overnight. We were blown away by her enthusiasm! She ended up being chased away by our ever-strict security guard, but returned at 5am to still be first in line.

The crazy queue just before the doors were set to open snaked all the way to the otherside and back, then down the stairwell to the 2nd floor, then around the 2nd floor again! Everyone was so patient and dedicated!

The sale ended up being a huge success! Managed to clear the ever-growing queue by 530pm, and Xiaxue sold most of her things and so did we. Thank you everybody who came down and queued to get in, see you next time! Also, just in case you didn’t make it down that day, no fear! We’re having a post-warehouse-sale sale online right now!!! So head on over to Jipaban and shop away right now.
